After a few months of negotiations, American businessman, a prominent figure in the watch industry, Severin Wunderman, became the new owner of the company in 1999. Mr. Wunderman worked for the Gucci Company for 25 years. A warm friendship between Gucci and Wunderman resulted in the appearance of Gucci timepieces based upon Wunderman’s sharp sense of style and innate talent to produce models that reached the top position in the market.

The designs created by Mr.Wunderman marked a new phase in Corum's history. They have been at once appreciated by mass media as "youthful, daring and dynamic." The brand’s new owner wants Corum to remain on the top of luxury Swiss watchmaking.
