Corum Unveils its Admiral's Cup Competition 48 Porto Cervo Marina

The Corum watchmaking company has recently introduced its Admiral's Cup Competition 48 Porto Cervo Marina produced in limited edition. The watch has been revealed at the DeLUXE 2007 gala event held in Porto Cervo.

The luxury event, with taking part as a 'Gold Partner', held in Sardinia, Italy, was attended by over 800 guests and industry leaders. All the invitees had a unique chance to see the latest CORUM watch models the world premiere of the prestigious limited edition timepiece. The presentation of the brand was held by the major people of CORUM - Chairman Severin Wunderman, President Michael Wunderman, and General Manager Antonio Calce.

The Corum Admiral's Cup Competition 48 Porto Cervo Marina represents an 18K red gold watch. The dial of the watch sports the Marina's prestigious logo. The timepiece is available in limited edition of just 100 pieces. The timepiece enjoyed instant success - the first five watch models available were acquired on the spot and gone within 24 hours following their introduction.

During the event in the evening, Michael Wunderman and General Manager of CORUM Italia Beppe Ambrosini, presented everyone present number 1 of the Admiral's Cup Competition 48 Victory Challenge timepiece that was unveiled in May, 2007 in Valencia, Spain. The watch based upon the original combination of titanium and rubber was developed in a limited edition of 250 pieces. Through the watch's introduction the brand wanted to commemorate its partnership with the Victory Challenge team - became the Official Timekeeper of at the 32nd America's Cup.

The timepiece was presented at the auction to benefit a local charity aimed to offer support to underprivileged children in the town of Arzachena located nearby. The watch's auction sale aroused a bidding war between three avid buyers. The 'battle' was finaly won by one of the lucky bidders who was ready to pay 18,700 Euro. The charitable contribution was given to the honorable Mayor of Arzachena, Mr. Pasquale Ragnedda.

The next time new CORUM watches will be presented at the DeLUXE event to be held in Singapore in October, 2007.

Admiral's Cup Competition 48 Porto Cervo Marina is powered by a reliable Automatic movement, based upon VAL 7750. Due to its supreme precision, the mechanism has been awarded by the COSC-chronometer certification. The movement comprises 24 rubies. The finishing of the movement has been exclusively made for . Besides the common hours, minutes, and seconds, the timepiece also provides the day and date functions.

The 18-K red gold case of the timepiece measures 48 mm in diameter. It is equipped with a screw-lock crown also crafted in 18-K red gold. The crown is reliably protected by vulcanized rubber crown guard. The screw-down back holds a real surprise - it features the Porto Cervo Marina logo.

The varnished caramel dial of the watch is dedicated to the Porto Cervo Marina. It demonstrates 12 painted nautical pennants that took the place of hour-markers.
